When you think of moments that make you happy, often BIG moments with a strong emotion come to mind. But feeding off one of those moments for a long time can put a lot of pressure on it!
Plus the emotion of that happy moment can fade over time.

Every piece of the puzzle counts

Think of happiness as if you’re putting a puzzle together and every piece adds to the big picture we all want to complete. Because… Have you ever seen a 1 piece puzzle? I know I don’t!

What I do remember is that when I’m puzzling, I feel that joy and excitement with every piece that fits. Every piece that connects is another YESSS moment.

And when you add up all those YESSS moments, isn’t that just much better than having one big one a week or month? All those little happy moments throughout the day can be seen as pieces of the puzzle.

That’s why I encourage the wonderful women who work with me to increase their daily joy & happiness instead of going for the big bang.

It’s about small steps, not about completely turning your life around by doing a 180.
It’s about the small things that will add up and make you feel more joyful and fulfilled.
So the big question here is, what small step can you take today to add to your frequency of joy?

Create your own little chain of happiness

Happiness isn’t always in the BIG THINGS or big gestures.
Creating a little chain of positivity can spark the kind of happiness that you’re looking for as well!!

HOW?
Think of some small things that bring you joy.
Whether these are songs, photos, videos, phone calls, or drinking your favorite cup of coffee from that cute mug someone special gave you. You name it!

And when you’ve got a couple, try to plan them so you can experience multiple happy moments throughout the day!

Did you know that you don’t have to come up with happiness yourself?

We all have those days that we wake up and know this just isn’t going to be our best day.
Right?!?

Well guess what, I’ve got something good for you!!

You can still experience all the joy & happiness you want, even when it’s not your day.
And the best thing is…
You don’t even have to come up with it yourself!

All you have to do is to look around you.

See what makes others smile and then try if it makes you smile too!!

The other day one of my clients shared that she heard one of her colleagues brag about her vacation.
Instead of just rolling her eyes, my client decided to get up and get involved in the conversation.

What she got out of it?

Well… lots!

While listening to her colleague she got reminded of one of her own vacations that was quite similar.
She felt all excited and got to share her vacation story as well.
Together they bounced off each other’s energy and discussed all kinds of possible ideas for the next vacation.

Instead of sitting behind her desk feeling annoyed, she left the conversation feeling joyful & excited and she made a positive connection with a colleague.

Now every time they see each other, they instantly have a smile on their face because they are both thinking of their own lovely vacations. 🥰

So you might want to keep your eyes open to see what makes others happy!

Feeling stuck in your weekly routine?

Spice things up and try to schedule something different every week!

That’s what my client Sabine did.

She was done with her schedule looking the same 👏 every 👏 single 👏 week.

She now makes it her mission to change at least 1 thing in her schedule weekly. So she doesn’t run her week on autopilot.

By switching things up she stays curious about what’s to come.
And of course, she makes sure to add a bit of fun in there as well.
By scheduling it, she knows that it is coming and that alone already adds to that feeling of joy and excitement!

So ask yourself…What’s something fun that you can add to your schedule this week?

I’m actively aware of my happy moments. Are you?

We all experience a lot of feelings & moments throughout the day.
There is joy, happiness, boredom, impatience, doubt.
All feelings & moments come and go and half of the time, we aren’t even aware of them.

Sometimes, that’s a good thing.
Because if we pay more attention than needed to a certain emotion, it can become bigger than necessary.

After all… What we focus on, grows. 🌱

Sometimes, it also makes that we miss out on increasing our joy & happiness.
Because when you become actively aware of your happy feelings, it gives you an opportunity to keep your happiness chain going with another small boost of joy. And another one!

So that’s why my question to you is…
